So here's the place to recommend your favorite movies. Be sure to tell a little snippet about what kind of movie it is or what makes it good.
Star Wars: Adventurous, capturing and classic sci-fi action. It's fun, and it's great for the imagination.
Equilibrium: A cool movie with gun martial arts. Futuristic, emotions are illegal.
Groundhog Day: Stuck living the same day over again? Take advantage of it! Very funny.
The Prestige: Amazing movie, though I really need to watch it again. Mysterious and magnificent.
The Incredibles: My favorite cartoon movie, I like superhero movies and this one was just superb.
Ratatouille: Another great Pixar film, amazing animation, as well as clean, warm humor.

Ugh, I HATE Napolean Dynamite!
A great movie that I bought the other day is Wild Hogs
It has 4 great actors, 3 of which are Martin Lawrence, Tim Allen, and John Travolta. It's plain hilarious and will have you laughing almost the whole way through it.

How could you? It was great.
Two more I highly recommend are Relative Strangers and Rat Race

Ratatoullie and Music and Lyrics are two under rated comedies I'd suggest.

Have you seen The Usual Suspects? It's a crime mystery movie, and I thought it was brilliant. (Watch the whole thing though). It does have some bad language and stuff though.

Sideways : Sounds boring when in print..... it's about two guys who are like thirty or something and they go soul-searching as they go visit wineries and stuff. Geez, I'm bad at summaries. But it's funny, in a subtle sort of way.

Cry_Wolf: It's not really an awesome movie, but I do recommend it because it's based off of mafia. It is interesting though, and I'm sure some of you will like it.

Gah, I've gone movie crazy this summer. I've got a lot of them to recommend. Oh, Defjam. I just saw Rat Race today! Hilarious! The part with the WW2 veterans was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. So my most favorite movies are: Speed Racer Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Sweeney Todd Battle Royale Hot Fuzz Shoalin Soccer 30 Days of Night Then honorable mentions go to: Bridge to Terabithia Unbreakable The 6th Sense 28 Days Later Rat Race Who Framed Roger Rabbit The Thing THe Iron Giant (probably my most favorite animated movie, grossly unappreciated, made by the guy who made The Incredibles and Ratatouille) Die Hard series (except 2!) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Home Alone 1&2 Princess Mononoke My recommendation for the week is The Iron Giant.

I really liked Princess Mononoke, as well as Shaolin Soccer, Battle Royale and Hot Fuzz, but I haven't seen Sweeney Todd...
28 Days Later was way too gory for me, it was like unnecessary at some points

Ooh yeah, it was very raunchy though.
I haven't seen Rat Race, I might look into that.
Speed Racer - Very yes. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight - I liked TDK a lot more though. Sweeney Todd - Never seen it. Battle Royale - Haha, I actually saw this again with my friend on Wednesday night. Hot Fuzz - Ooh yeah, I really liked this one. Shoalin Soccer - Never heard of it actually. 30 Days of Night - This one either.

Pulp Fiction - Funny, action-y, a bit risque but just plain good. Office Space - Very funny; my favorite comedy movie. I Love You, Man - Hilarious as well, it's got a lot of great quotable moments. Stop Making Sense - Okay maybe this movie isn't for everyone, but the Talking Heads are one of the most energetic bands ever and this is the best concert film out there. This Is Spinal Tap - Very clever parody movie.

Coraline - I'm sure you guys have heard of it? Maybe? If not, it's about a girl who is neglected by her parents, and she finds a small door in the wall that is locked and has a brick wall behind it (once she gets it unlocked). However, when she goes to sleep, she is woken in the night by mice/gerbils/rats (I really can't tell the difference) rodents, and she discovers that the brick wall is suddenly gone and she goes through to an alternate universe where her everything is as she wishes it to be... and people have buttons for eyes. But for looking so wonderful and mystical.. there's something disturbing about the world and everything is not as it seems... It's animated. Claymation to be precise Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day - Set prior to World War II, there's a homeless nanny/governess (Miss Pettigrew) who is fired from her fourth job. As she is fired, she overhears her boss talking about a client, and as she leaves she steals the client's card, passing herself off as the delegated person to serve the client. The client is no one other than an aspiring starlet, torn between three men (each representing something she wants: fame, wealth, or love), who lives a shallow life, yet is innocent and harmless for all the backstabbing and gossiping that goes around her. Miss Pettigrew and the actress both help each other sort out their lives and giving each other what they both need: friendship. Amy Adams from Enchanted is the actress, and one of her lovers is Ned from Pushing Daisies I don't know anyone else :/ But it is a touching and (surprisingly) good romantic-comedy that isn't contrived or... lame . The real thing that's so appealing about the movie are the characters and their deft portrayal.

I'm in love with Inglorious Basterds. I've seen it four times now... I really, really recommend it to everyone. As long as you're not too squeamish.
I also saw The Informant recently. It was funny and reminded me of Office Space... not quite as good, but same style. Intelligent comedy. Good stuff.

Hey has anybody recommended Fight Club yet? Oh my, one of the best movies I've ever seen... It's a satirical movie that explores the idea of the rejection of consumerism, but it follows a nameless narrator who is sick of his job and stuff, and meets a random on a plane. They meet up later and form a fight club where they can release all their stress and stuff (I guess) in the form of physical violence.
I dunno, it's too complex to be expressed in my synopsis, but I hope it sounds interesting enough. It's developed a cult following, so yeah, I'm sure you'd know of it (or at least heard of it).
Also, American History X explores racism in America as it follows a family with two neo-Nazi sons, who engage in racist acts such as targeting a Korean store and whatnot. The film focuses a lot on how damaging racism is, and after one is incarcerated, his path to redemption.
I really enjoyed it... surprised me how much I liked it. It was pretty brutal though and a lot of the scenes containing racism can disgust you... I guess you just see how terrible racism is...
