Well, since Defjam asked. www.deathnote.tv/list.phpDeathnote is an anime/manga about a bored kid who finds a mysterious notebook called the Deathnote. Whoever's name is writen in this notebook will surely die. He uses this new power to change the world. Defintely the best anime I have ever seen. One of the two animes I would recommend to people who have never seen anime outside of Dragonball or Naruto.

I hate light. He's cool.... yet insanely evil. HE KILLED L. I hate him.
L is cool. And a bit.... weird.

Well, you couldn't say he was completely evil. He did try to establish a new, better world, though I do think it was out of selfish reasons. Eitehr way, you cant argue with the results.

He tried to make a world that pretty much worshipped him. Better world? Not really. He's kinda like a tyrant. It wouldn't have worked. Petty criminals would have still done their activities.
*sigh* Why did L die? Misa didn't die.... did she? I don't think she did

Nope, but I'm pretty sure she was depressed afterwards. I never liked her much.

....yeah. She was pretty annoying.
I found it interesting that L and Light were similar yet complete opposites: they both thought that they were the ones who dealt justice correctly, and they both could accurately predict and deduce stuff... did you notice that in the tennis and fights they had, L always used backhand and kicks while Light used forehands and punches?

It was amusing how his calm composure broke and he starteed screaming like a madman. Are we the only ones who has actually seen Deathnote?

Yea in the manga, Light begs Ryuk to kill everyone for him, but instead Ryuk puts Light's name in the Death Note in front of everybody. Then we see Light go all spastic when he remembers that when you die you don't go to heaven or hell, you go the Mu or nothingess. It's much more dark and sinister than the anime's ending, and more fitting if you ask me.
btw this all happens at the warehouse after Light's plan fails and Matsuda shoots him.

Oh......
Well, it's not really much different. Either way he gets shot, spazzes and gets killed by Ryuk.
But I agree. That ending sounds way more fitting for his personality.

Well his death was more direct, in the anime he didn't see himself get killed, in the manga he was getting killed before his very eyes. Either way the end result was the same. I just liked the manga ending better

how did i not notice this thread yet? I mean, I am making the DeathNote mafia game. I don't know if you guys caught this but I'll say it anyway. Light wasn't justice, he wasn't doing the right thing. He killed inasent people, and at the end, he realized he was wrong at the end. cuz, you know how whenever you lose, you think of what you should have done better. but at the end of the show, he was having flashbacks to the day he found the DeathNote. meaning that was the mistake, him starting this was the mistake. i feel smart for saying that. and if you watch through the show a second time, you really notice how power hungry he is. like remember that part where he killed the FBI guy and all the other guys. if he hadn't killed him, Light would have gotten away. The FBI guy thought that Light wasn't the Kira, and if Light hadn't killed him, he would never had been put on the suspicion list.
