soft, if you were truly town you would be able to claim your role without a problem. PLUS YOU ALREADY TOLD EVERYONE TO LYNCH YOU. You don't give up this easily when you are town.

I'm just wondering what Ernie detected me as. Just "scum" or my role? Seems easy for him to target me, while there are so many people he could have picked. He already thought I was scum, so I don't get why he wouldn't just make a case against me.

TML: Iota of scum. Like I said, soft's turnabout that you mentioned looks more to me like bus prep. While what he said about her in 40 is true, it was kinda merrrr (although this may be a me-having-had-her-at-lean-scum bias). You're wrong wrong wrong on this one, Kat. You don't even know how wrong you are. JUST KILL ME. End the game already. This makes things no fun. I'm never fond of all-out attempts to quit the game. ... *pen taps* Let me take the Devil's Advocate here for a second and assume what seems to be a pretty unlikely truth, that Soft is Town. I'm left with a few glaring questions: (1) Why isn't she claiming? Even if you have nothing left, you always have your claim. It may not actually stop the train that you're already on, but it should be sufficient. (2) Why is Soft worried about the game ending? She might conceivably be worried about there being 4 Mafiosi out there, at which point this would take us down to 4 Townies at the end of the day. However, that seems particularly too many Mafiosi for a 12-player game. I'd expect a 3v9 setup since that's closer to the 25% sweet spot. Otherwise, the margin of error for lynching is too narrow for comfort. (3) How does Karma play into Ernie's role? Because being given a suite of abilities without any ability to really grow in stature from Karma seems... curious. And I'd personally have to believe that the Detective ability would have to be one of the top-tier abilities, really. Ernie's role as he has so far described doesn't feel like my role. (4) What is Ernie's role name? He didn't give it directly (unless it's "Town Jack of All Trades". However, all these things said, I don't feel like any of these combined are sufficient so far to overcome a cop claim. FoS: SoftguitarI unfortunately got in super late, so I haven't had the proper time to really digest this and provide a proper post. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do so tomorrow if the day hasn't ended by then.

I'm going to ask you guys to please not lynch Soft before I get the chance to make a bigger post with my terrible reads.
That said, I will admit that I thought Soft was town still, especially based on her posts today before Ernie's claim.

FoS: Anyone who votes soft without giving a full list of suspicions like Kat and I did. Seriously, it's not that hard. Any attempts to lynch her quickly will be seen as mafia trying to get to night phase.
Also, you're right, TML, I didn't explain my role properly. I am Town Jack of all Trades (yes, that's my name, hence what I said earlier in the day). Basically each of my abilities uses specific karma amounts, so I need to gather it and spend it. Pretty simple really, and not sure why you need to know that.

I think TML was asking how much karma you needed for a detect ability, probably because he doesn't believe you. At least that's what I got out of his post.

Basically each of my abilities uses specific karma amounts, so I need to gather it and spend it. Pretty simple really, and not sure why you need to know that. Plausibility. I'm not in the habit of disregarding cop claims. However, in my history, I've learned to be slow and methodical with them just to ensure that I'm really paying attention and not being snookered by anything. Hence my Devil's Advocate; in the case of a reasonable Mafia target, I always invert the equation, analyze things from the other way, and then look for contradictions or doubts. The question regarding how Karma played into your role was one of the things that I didn't quite have bucketed out. In this case, your initial claim didn't feel thematic with the game due to the omission of the Karma mechanic, so it made the claim sound like a potential bluff. Still a very doubtful bluff; many Mafiosi don't have the wherewithal to come out and claim an investigation right off the bat. But I wanted to cross my Ts and dot my Is and not just speed past what could be an obvious gaffe on my part.

I saw XX target Kat last night. I can confirm this. I did target Kat last night, I don't care for situations where the town completely trusts a few, and if I had found something out about Kat then I could have made a stand. However, I got nothing, so I have no reason to suspect her. But SG, please don't just give up... you should tell us your role. If you're actually town there's no reason to be acting like this.

Here are my reads so far(in no particular order)
TML: I originally was leaning town by his older posts, but if Soft is actually scum then I think there's a good chance that he is mafia. He seems to be defending Soft. So right now I am thinking he may be scum, if Soft is mafia then I will think he is for sure mafia.
Monstrman: I have never played mafia on this site before, so it could just be the way he is, but it seems like he takes this game as serious business. So I can't tell if he a real serious player or is scum. So right now I really got nothing to think of him.
Kat: I believe she is town. No way to tell for sure but I have changed my mind from earlier. I am no longer suspicious of her based on my guts.
Soft: After Ernie said that he detected her as scum, I thought I would wait until she gave a response before blindly voting her, it just seems as if she is giving up because she's been found out.
Ernie: Seems to be getting down to business. If it turns out that Soft isn't scum, then he is #1 on my scum list.
GG: Same as TML. If it turns out Soft is scum then I am gonna think he is mafia. Other than that I have nothing to go on based on how little he has posted.
Robbie: Way too inactive to be scum. I don't think the mafia would be inactive. Nothing to really go on with him
XXstone: I thought he was mafia on Day 1, but after he roleclaimed and explained himself, I believed him. So for now I am leaning he is town.
Blrasmu: I am thinking he may be scum, based on his avoiding questions and his behavior in general. Could just be the way he plays, I don't know
Fatal: Town. Needs to post more and explain himself better to avoid being accused mafia.

Why do you not think scum would be inactive? Inactivity is null (ie both alignments do it)

Well, perhaps I should go ahead and say what I do know. I've debated this because... well... I don't traditionally like claiming early. But... let's face it, this isn't a large game, and so I might as well do it sooner than later.
I'm the reason there wasn't a murder last night.
I have a hybrid role. I am a Bulletproof with a Bodyguard kicker ability, and I started the game with enough Karma to invoke the kicker. Last night, I stood vigilant guard by Monstrman.
I don't know exactly how last night went down, but I am aware that I was hit. Whether that was a direct assault on me or whether it got redirected to me from Monstrman via my ability, I don't know. However, it does give better than even odds that Monstr is town, so I'm inclined to trust him in the meanwhile.

Why do you not think scum would be inactive? Inactivity is null (ie both alignments do it) Well players that are Mafia would probably want to stay active, that way they wouldn't be weeded out by "lurking". However, it's completely possible that he is in fact mafia, but I doubt it.
