Ok, we're now at the Semi-Finals. A few changes in rules for the last few rounds: a) No retracting votes. Meaning once you place a vote, it's stuck. b) 2 days instead of 3. c) No new voters. If you haven't voted on any previous polls, you're out of luck. d) Results will be hidden until the poll is locked. And NO telling people who you voted for or who to vote for. Please don't cheat. And here's the second of the Final 8: Agent Ford (The Conduit)WarioPassenger (The Ship)Homer Simpson

d) Results will be hidden until the poll is locked. And NO telling people who you voted for or who to vote for. I honestly do not understand the point of this. This (along with one of the previous rules) means that there is no preferential voting (which is a part of any democracy that isn't shit). You're basically telling people "If you don't want to vote for one of the most popular choices, then fuck you, because your opinion is worthless." Unless of course you're a mod (which conviniently you are) in which case you can clearly see if/where your vote will make a difference and act accordingly. This system is clearly unfair and eletist and I have no idea why I am the only one who seems to have a problem with it.

How could it even be elitist? If he can't even set his own rules, you're basically trying to rule this game. He doesn't care who you vote for, as long as you don't influence other people.
You don't tell other people who you voted for president, do you...

I'm sick of all the guys who are complaining about Ernie and not even the game itself.
Try hosting a game yourself once.

I just want the result to be your favorites, not influenced by some hivemind group. And if me seeing the results bothers you, I can always just vote first.

Actually, I did tell people who I voted for in the last election. However, I have no problem with a secret ballot- in fact, I think it's an interesting element.
Although I already forgot who I voted for...

If he can't even set his own rules, you're basically trying to rule this game. He can set his own rules (as indeed he has) but I am going to point out the flaws within those rules. How exactly does making these numbers secret stop a hivemind? Jim and Steve discuss on Skype voting for Character A. They do so. Whether they can or can't see what other people has voted is unimportant, because they're still going to pile their votes on that character. I am more than happy to tell people who I vote for Prime Minister (or at least I will be come next election when I can vote) because I fail to see how my telling them will impact at all on the outcome of the election. Also because Australia has an election system that isn't totally retarded (that is, one that doesn't subscribe to the "Vote popular or fuck you" model). Please point out to me where I have been attacking Erniewan rather than the game itself within this thread. Because I'm pretty sure just now was the first time I even used the word "Erniewan".

And I wanted this to be an all out battle of 4 contestants, where you vote for your personal FAVORITE, not turning out to be a 2-party system where no one votes for the Independents because they don't stand a chance, and everyone pressures each other into voting a specific candidate.
