Hey, Crav here.
A while back I aproached Erniewan with a particular concept for a special mafia game.
I think it'd be easier to explain if I tell you a little bit about my history with the game first, but for those of you who couldn't care less, just skip to the next paragraph or two for the meat of the idea. I'm a pretty big fan of mafia. A few years back, I was first introduced to the game on Starmen.net when Ernie hosted a huge game on their forums called EarthBound mafia. It spawned a series of giant games, each with 40-50 players. I was hooked, and after playing a few rounds, I introduced the game to another videogame forum I frequented at the time called VGF where it was a pretty big success. I tried my hand at all sorts of variations of the game on different sites, but always returned Starmen.net and VGF to get my main fix, at least until the dark day when the game was banned from starmen.net. I then signed up here like a number of the ex-starmen players, but never managed to get involved in a game until recently because for bad timing and missing the signups, so most of my games recently had been with VGF's little mafia community.
Recently, the games there have gotten a little stale, and I found myself yearn for the giant games that Starmen used to have. But very few communities can support a game that big, and fewer still have the type of friendly environment that makes the game fun.
That's where you folks come in.
After playing with the idea for a while, I've decided I'd like to try hosting a large cross community game, combining the player pools of Deus Ex Mafia and VGF to create a huge game in the spirit of the ones that used to be played on Starmen.
If there's interest in it here, of course.
I think not only would it be a lot of fun, but it would freshen up the game for both communities to play with a fresh batch of people, not to mention create an interesting new mix of playing styles and tactics.
This Topic isn't an actual sign-up, so much as a presentation of the idea to see if there's actual interest in it.
If there is, I already have a good idea for the general layout of the game. (Thinking it's going to be a general Nintendo theme.)
I'll also be looking for a co-host if this happens, and I'd like one from here to help better incorperate some of the local culture of the playing styles here. Feel free to voluntier, but keep in mind that I expect any co-host to be just as active and dedicated to the game as I am.
Finally, here's VGF's humble little mafia board, incase anyone would like to see some of the games as well as the people you might be playing with.

It's a smaller community than this. 20 people would be considered a pretty large game there. But I know most of the regulars there quite well, and would personally vouch for any of them.
So that's about it. =p
What say you, good people? Do we have a game?
